I absolutely love this movie. I watched it all the time when I was in elementary school. Then, as time went on, I phased out of the "cartoon mode" and went on to better things like Air Bud and Flubber. Or at least I thought they were better at the time. However, one night (I was a sophomore or junior in high school) when a friend was staying the night, I had the random urge to make her watch Totoro. Now this was a HUGE risk because during that time we had great movies like The Day After Tomorrow and Zoolander that we couldn't wait to watch. Also, I own Totoro on VHS(..what's that?!). We ended up watching Totoro and it was definitely the best choice. The laughter began when the credits played in the beginning(That's right, you heard me. Credits played at the BEGINNING. Who does that anymore??). Weird shaped creatures and random objects would appear that made no sense what-so-ever. Yes, it did have it's boring moments because, well, it was created for the entertainment of small children. But I am not ashamed that we chose to watch it. I would tell you about all my favorite parts but I don't want to spoil it for all you who are now going to watch it on my recommendation. I will say this, before you press play you need to go in with an open mind. Because if you don't, you will think you have wasted 86min of your life which is not acceptable.
The following picture is from real life and it has to do with the movie. I laugh every single time I see it and I'm sure you will too if you watch it.
This post was inspired by a recent visit by my EC ladies from Virginia Tech. We watched it together about two weeks ago and we all thought it was hilarious.
