Double Whammy

I was notified a few days ago that I received a scholarship toward my Australia trip!! I was so freakin excited! I was with my friend Christian in a computer lab with a random person sitting in the corner and when I found out I literally jumped out of my chair and started screaming different varieties of "I GOT A SCHOLARSHIP! I'M NO BROKE! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! DRINKS ON ME!" The dude in the corner probably got excited about the last one. I'm so glad I had a friend (and rando I guess) there to see my reaction though. It's hard to really capture these moments in words.

The reason this is named double whammy is because not only do I get the money, but my presence was requested at a meeting where they will present me with the "check." And by check in quotes I mean A BIG TANGIBLE CHECK that you see people get on TV! That was on my bucket list!! So many exciting things right now, I feel like this isn't real life. Hopefully the organization takes a picture of me getting the check because I want to see the size of my smile when they give it to me. I'm sure it will be half the size of my face. I'll be sure to post the picture here if they provide me with one. I'm going to Fairfax to receive it next week :)
